Cashia Payment Links - FAQs
Cashia Payment Links are unique, shareable URLs that allow you to receive payments from customers instantly. You can generate them for products, services, or specific amounts and send them via email, SMS, or social media.
To create a payment link,
- Log in and go to "Payment Links"
- Fill in the product name, price, link expiry date and specify if it's for one-time or multiple use.
- Choose optional settings like description
- Click "Create link" to generate.
- Copy and share with your customers.
Yes, you can personalise each payment link with a title, description, and specific amount. You can also track individual links for reporting purposes.
Yes. From your merchant web portal, you can share Payment Links directly to WhatsApp and other supported platforms without leaving the dashboard. You can also use the ‘Copy to Clipboard’ option and manually paste the link anywhere you want (e.g., SMS, email).
Cashia Payment Links support M-Pesa and Card payments.
If a customer tries to use a payment link that has expired or has been used up, they will automatically be shown an error message. This ensures the link's settings are always enforced, and no unauthorized payments can be accepted."
Cashia charges a small transaction fee for every payment made through the link. The transaction costs are in the tariff table for all Cashia transactions.
You can view payments made for each link
- Log in and go to "Payment Links".
- Select the link you want to view.
- You will see the number of payments made through that link.

Currently, Cashia Payment Links are only available for non-recurring payments.
Cashia uses advanced 3DS Payment encryption and fraud detection technologies to ensure all transactions are safe and secure. Your customers can make payments confidently, knowing their information is protected.
If a payment fails, the customer will be notified to retry. You will also receive a notification, and the payment link remains active for the customer to attempt another payment.
Yes, you can set an expiration date for any payment link when creating the link. You can also change the edit the expiry date of the link
Funds collected can be withdrawn to your bank account or to M-Pesa. Simply navigate to the “Withdraw” section in your Cashia dashboard and follow the prompts to withdraw funds.
No, there is no limit to the number of payment links you can create. You can generate as many links as you need for your business operations.
Yes, you can deactivate or cancel any payment link from your dashboard. Once deactivated, the link will no longer accept payments.
Yes. You can edit active Payment Links directly from your merchant dashboard without needing to create a new one. You can edit the following fields:
- Title
- Description
- Amount
- Expiry time
- Number of allowed uses (for static links)
- Status (Activate/Deactivate)
All updates are saved in real-time. Customers opening the link will immediately see the latest details.
If a link is deactivated, customers will receive an error message when they try to use it, and no payments will be processed.
Yes. You can reactivate it at any time by editing the status back to 'Active'.
